Because sustainability is more than just a buzzword

Under the tagline "Packaging is the solution - sustainability & Speed", decision makers and project executives from industry, science and research discussed the latest developments at the 27th Dresden Packaging Conference (November 30th-December 1st).

Hosted by the German Packaging Institute (Deutsches Verpackungsinstitut - dvi) and the Scientific Society for Material Handling and Packaging (Wissenschaftliche Gesellschaft für Fördertechnik und Verpackung - WGFV), the networking event shed light on various packaging topics from the aspect of sustainability vs greenwashing. As in 2016, Dirk Stolte, Head of Application Engineering at ppg >, contributed a keynote speech.

In his thusly titled speech, Dirk Stolte illustrated the discourse between brand owners and converters in terms of rethinking the production of packaging films to establish sustainability as another key priority besides product protection and sales volume.

Underscored by practical examples, conference attendees were treated to an insightful examination of the interrelation between specific requirements, possible solutions and the actual execution of such efforts..
