The challenges for recyclable fresh meat packaging lie in the interaction between packaging material and packaging equipment. The aim is to determine the appropriate balance between packaging performance, product protection and regulatory requirements.
The sealing layer makes the difference
The main challenge is to develop sealing media that do not impair recycling processes. We have now achieved this with the buoyant Mono APET Float-Film Peel (density < 1 g/cm³). *Certified by the independent cyclos HTP institute, this packaging concept offers a sealing medium that is compatible with recycling. It therefore fulfils ‘best case design’ criteria in LEH-Styleguide requirements.
