Design for recycling in conjunction with "VerpackG"

The “VerpackG” packaging act will come into effect on January 01, 2019. Additionally, the European Commission’s “European Strategy for Plastics in a Circular Economy” is also being applied more frequently. As a result, “design for recycling” is now a trending topic in the packaging sector.

Fortunately, we’ve already launched a variety of solutions to overcome the current challenges. For some time now, we’ve been getting requests from various markets for alternatives to conventional packaging. As a result, we were able to start accumulating know-how in this area early on.

In addition, over the last few months, we’ve been holding intensive talks with the DSD/Der Grüne Punkt over the course of the last months. As Germany’s biggest recycling company, they were also involved in the development of the “Orientation Guide for Assessing the Recyclability of Packaging Subject to Required System Participation”. The guide was issued by the Zentrale Stelle Verpackungsregister (or “Central Office Packaging Register”) in coordination with Germany’s Federal Environmental Agency early this past summer.

Our customers value the expertise we’ve acquired through our experience and our ongoing dialogue with the DSD / Der Grüne Punkt. It would be our pleasure to share it with you, too.
